Just look at that big beautiful beast. The cover, I mean, though the dragon’s also pretty great. Credit to Alessandro Gianna, the artist and my friend, for all his hard work on this.
This book, Esoteria, drops on April 8th. You can preorder it right here.
I’m so proud of this, and it means so much to me, and I hope it means as much to you.
It’s the story of Stevie Bellingham, a little girl with an alcoholic mother, and we follow her from her early days in the 90s where she has to start working far too young to keep the house afloat, all the way to 2020, when the sum of all the events of her life culminate. In between there are beasties, creatures, worlds behind worlds, and all manner of wonders, large and small.
It’s the longest book I’ve ever written, easily twice as long as anything else I’ve done, because it covers a lot of territory. Dysfunction. Swords and sorcery. Coming of age. Love. Alcoholism and addiction. The major events of our lives. Horror. Urban fantasy. It’s really kind of impossible to categorize, which is unfortunate for my marketing efforts, ideally fortunate for your experience.
I cannot emphasize or stress more the importance of reviews, both early in the process, and after release.
This is not my preference, begging for reviews, but it’s the only way that people seem to give the books a chance, so I must reiterate, again, that every review is worth more than if you pressed 100 bucks into my hand. Especially for a new release.
It’s ten bucks, because it’s so very, very long. It’s also ten bucks because I’m trying to release my book without a Kickstarter, and see if I can do a proper launch without one, thus the pre-order.
I cannot, alas, open a pre-order for the physical copy. I can, however, order author copies. So if you really want a physical copy, let me know. My final proof arrives tomorrow, and after that, I can order it for anyone, scribble in it, and send it their way.
Thanks in advance!
